So the night after I lie and take a week off of work I spill water on my super expensive laptop aka my lifeline. Karma anyone?? I am dying. It won't start at all. Its still under warranty but I doubt they will cover water damage. I want to curl up into a ball and not get up! I will make it through this though. I've been through much worse this year. Much worse.
In good news, the scale is being nicer to me this week, I just need to stay on track so I can celebrate on Friday!

Just tallying my points for the day. I'm going out for happy hour and dinner tonight so I have to be super super careful especially since its the day before weigh in!!!
2. Hard boiled egg 3. Ww bagel with butter 2. Banana 7. Whole wheat bagel with cream cheese
So that's 14 points so far. I will allow 4 points for drinks and 10 for dinner. I will need to make good choices and practice portion control and self control!
I'm going to buy some gum to take care of the munchies!

Just so you all know, I have gone "FRIENDS ONLY" with my posts. I am eventually going to go back and make all of my past entries friends-only too. I love new weight loss buddies, and would be happy to add anyone on the same road to health and happiness as I am. Support is the best way to do this.

Okay, so, things here have been going pretty well...except for one little mixup. You see, I had followed my points EXACTLY for Wed. and Thursday- 26 and 27. Then Friday I had everything perfectly counted and had just ate my 31st point, when I realized that I had drank a tall hot chocolate from Starbucks and had completely forgotten to count it! So BAM! I was 5 points over! And how silly- had I counted it I simply wouldn't have had that small bag of popcorn at the movies! Silly me...
I'm not quite sure how to adjust so I don't go over my flex points. I mean, last night I didn't really count points after 17, but I had lots of high-point drinks (a margarita, an amaretto sour, a tequila sunrise....yeah it was a good night!) and i kinda devoured some french fries for some sober up food, so I'm positive I had at least 41 points last night.
I think I am going to merely adjust the next 3 days and instead of eating a few different points ranges I am just going to do my best to keep it at 26 points. But, if I'm like STARVING, I'll let myself have an extra point or two =)
The scale said happy things this morning. Hopefully it will continue to say those happy things and maybe even happier come my Wednesda weigh-in.

First of all, THANKS to everyone who filled out my friends survey! It was so much fun getting to know you all a bit better AND getting to know things about you that didn't involve weight loss- because there really are so many more things to us and to life!
I'm really tired and this post is pointless, but I just wanted to say that day 2 of vegetarianism and Wendie Plan and 75DC was good. The vegetarian thing is a bit tough, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. And it did help my choose a really healthy lunch- just veggie soup and fruit! mmmm!!
But hey, I'm feeling thinner already, so yay! |

Ooooh, I have a HUGE NSV!!!!!!!!!!! Okay, so FOREVER everytime I have seen a video-tape of myself I have wanted to vomit. No matter what I always look like 10X worse than what I thought I looked like. Even if it's really not that bad, it just never looks like I think it's going to look. That is until I saw a video of myself from Sunday. Now, Sunday I put on a huge concert event for 8 acts at CBGB's to fundraise for my club. It was an event that I had been almost single-handedly planning since December. I really wanted to look great at it and set a goal of wearing my size 16 black velvet GAP jacket and size 16 GAP jeans to the concert. While the jacket fit, the jeans were still too tight (they buttoned, but the fat was squishing out everywhere, if you know what I mean... So, anyways, I spent a lot of time trying to get ready and still look and feel pretty even without the jeans. And I thought I succeeded. Now, that night my friend and I also shot a documentary and I was the main subject of it. I was just looking back at the footage and I actually didn't want to throw up when I saw the footage! I actually looked exactly as nice a i thought I did in the footage! I have an accurate self perception! And it's one that doesn't make me want to vomit!
That was HUGE for me. HUGE.

Yay!!! I FINALLY found exactly how many points I should be eating each day on the Wendie plan, which I am starting today:
• Day 1 - 26 points • Day 2 - 31 points • Day 3 - 27 points • Day 4 - 41 points Super High Day (SHD) • Day 5 - 26 points • Day 6 - 30 points • Day 7 - 28 points I am soooo excited to start this! It coincides directly with the start of the 75DC in the 100pounds2lose community and it starts with Lent, for which I am giving up meat!!
Today is a great day indeed!!! I really feel like this is going to work- I am going to break this plateau!!!!!!!!!!
now, if i can just get these 2 docs edited, this script written, and this study abroad app in TODAY, life will be even that much better. |

Changes to my diet:
-giving up meat for lent. This is going to be hard for me but I guess that's the point, right? The only thing I'm really going to miss is chicken. And I think I'll still eat fish. Yeah, I think I'll flip if I don't eat fish. -I am going on the Wendy plan starting Friday. I am super excited seeing as I am on a plateau and I really think it makes a lot of sense.
So, as for right now, I am eating terribly because I'm not really that hungry because of these TERRIBLE allergies I am suffering from out of nowhere. And when I do eat I want confort food because I'm so miserable right now. OH MY.
If only I can make it through Thursday. Everything in my life is due by then. SERIOUSLY. EVERYTHING. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh |

i love how i haven't been sick all school-year and now, in one of the biggest weeks, i wake up with a cold.
oh well, at least i'm not hungry?!?!
but the concert tonight...oh my....dealing with 8 acts.....praying people show up.....i'm so nervous i want to vomit. |

So, yesterday was about the worst food day I have had since I started watching my weight. I ate all day. But I got that out of my system and have only eaten 1000 calories today and I'm not even hungry anymore!
Thanks for all the encouragement after my last post guys, and thanks for sticking with me through this plateau and through my frustrations! You guys are the best!! |

212.4 this morning. Absolutely no clue why or what I'm doing wrong.
Frustrated beyond belief. I have never been through anything as disheartening as this plateau. I'm going to follow my plan on sparkpeople for another week and see what happens- considering I have only been on the plan for 3 days, I figure that I will give it a little more time to see what happens. I am following the plan PERFECTLY. My caloric intake for the past 3 days has been about 1550, 1600, and then 1400. I was on the elliptical for an hour yesterday. I am going to the gym for the next four days to do the elliptical for an hour- I will do strength training stuff around the dorm.
If I don't show a loss next week I think I am going to make an appointment with a doctor. This plateau has been going on for WAY too long, and now that I know for sure I am doing everything right, I'm not sure if I can handle it anymore. |

Okay, so I guess I tend to eat when I'm stressed. And today I was definitely stressed seeing as I had the absolute hardest midterm I have ever taken in my entire life and I don't even think I got one single question right on it.
So. here's the story:
I'm up all night studying for the midterm. Now, even with late night brain food munchies I kept my caloric intake yesterday to 1500, which is on the low side of my 1450-1800 range set by SparkPeople. Now, I got a few hours of sleep last night (read: 2.5) and got up this morning to continue studying for the Intro to Computers and Programming Midterm at 12:30 (read: java programming is too hard for me). So, I down a DIET red bull (I know, only my second one of sophomore year- i shouldn't ever but at least I don't often!) and keep going on my studying way. About 11:00 I arrive at the dining hall starving, and decide to have a good lunch. I had a Quizno's Honey Bourbon Chicken sub, an apple, and a bag of doritos (i usually forget the chips, but they were a treat today). I was nice and full and ready for my exam. So I go in and take the exam and I bomb it- I mean, lay a real big stinker. Afterwards, about 1:45, I realize I am slightly hungry. I decided that if i went to the dining hall and had a snack then that would allow me to not eat dinner before working out at 5:30, which would be great, and then I could do a late dinner which would keep me from snacking late at night. PERFECT.
But then it happened. I got in line to get some mixed vegetables, the perfect afternoon snack, when the guy serving said I had to get the entire stir-fry (rice and protein and sauce included) in order to get it. Otherwise I had to get cold veggies (which I LOATHE). So I caved. Thinking that i could only eat the broccoli and save the rice and chicken for dinner, I got the stir-fry. I ended up eating all the broccoli and a little rice and chicken before stopping myself after only eating 1/3 of the meal. Fine, said- still plenty left for dinner if I added some fruit and maybe a bread. So I was sitting at my table donig work when this guy from one of my classes came up to sit with me. Feeling uncomforatable because I don't know the guy so weird and am wondering what we will talk about, I open up my to-go box and eat the rest of the stir fry while we were talking. That's two big meals in 3 hours. OUCH!!!
It will be okay though. I have put everything into sparkpeople and my total calories for the day so far is: 1,136 (and I estimated high). Obviously I would like to have more left, but I technically can go up to 1800 calories for a day, and since I will be excersizing today, I might not feel so guilty doing so. We'll just see how hungry I am.
I just can't believe I ate that much! I feel so sick now!!! I'm really luck that everything I ate was fairly healthy- otherwise, who knows where I'd be!

Okay, so I have switched to sparkpeople. I am not a calorie counter. Now, I am still thinking about points, etc. and will consider myself a weight-watcher, because i do love it and am still an online member. But it just wasn't working for me. I have been on this plateau for 3 months- obviously something just isn't clicking anymore. I was taking the program for granted and not following it closely enough.
With sparkpeople I can just see it earier, and I feel more confident and more like it's possible. I like the weekly goals, and the fact that they in a way hold me to how much excersize/strength training I say I can do. And I like that I can keep track of protein and carbs and calories and fat to make sure I'm eating healthy. I just like the website and the way it is set up a lot. I put in how much I wanted to lose (my short term goal is 185 by my 20th birthday, June 10th), and they told me how many calories (1450-1800) I need to eat per day and how much excersize (300 minutes cardio and 60 minutes strength training per week) I need to do to reach that goal. I love that.

Tonight I had a New York slice of white cheese pizza, 3 light beers, and a handful of chocolates and STAYED IN MY POINTS RANGE!!!!!!!!!!! woot woot!
The past two days I have been crazily involved in this 48-hour project that my club puts on (it's insanity, and exhausting) but tomorrow I will hit the gym for an hour! yay motivation!
slow and stready wins the race...i just have to remember that...
couch to 5k starts tomorrow! anyone wanna do the program with me? I think it sounds like fun and I've always wanted to be able to run!! (google it to find more info, I'm too lazy to find a link now!) |

got a l8itttle too drunk on my vday ww plan and made out with my gay best friend. ooopppsiiiees. and now i'm too drunk. liqour is not my friend. neither is chocolate. but i had sooo muxh fun tonight. and i only ate 10 ww points, and earned 6 AP today before my unhealthy binge started. and considering i only had chocolate candies and had diet coke as my mixer it is doubtful that i went far over my points if i even did at all.
typing this was hard, and i will prob, be embarrassed that i did in the morning. but i did have a great vday!!! i hope you did too!!!

THEN: LOTS OF CHOCOLATE AND ALCOHOL AND PRETENTIOUS FILMS WITH MY FAVORITE FELLOW FILM MAJORS: MY ROOMATE AND GAY BEST FRIEND AND DEPRESSED GUY FRIEND WHO JUST BROKE UP WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND.
healthy? why, no, no it isn't. And you better bet that I am not going to count a single point after dinner. But fuck it because it is the only way that I can possibly be looking forward to that horrible, horrible day that exists in an hour and a half. And I am looking forward to it, my friends.
To my LJ friends that have valentines, from the bottom of my heart I hope that you have a fabulous day. To those of you who don't have valentines, I bring you the above plan. It allows for 16 points for me (i'm on 26 points a day) and at least 4 AP points worth of alcohol and chocolate. And if I go over that, that means I've had too much alcohol and I won't remember it anyways, so I won't feel bad.

That's right, the scale finally showed a significant loss!!!! And this means that the 212 yesterday WAS just water retention (I mean, realistically I knew it was, but it's nice to be right about that).
208.8 is almost the lowest number I have ever seen on the scale (obviously i mean in this weight loss journey). I did see a phantom 207 sometime in December, but that was way gone by the next day, so I don't really count that.
So, have I finally broken this damn 211-216 plateau? I'm not going to jinx it yet...let's see where I am next week =)
OH, I had a great NSV!!!!!! Last night I went out drinking and managed to get drunk (but not too drunk) and stay within my daily points allowance! I had a rum and diet coke, a vodka and diet coke, and a glass of house wine. And I didn't eat anything!!!!! Also, I had two big meals yesterday, so it's not like I surrendered points during the day, I just made good choices! This is probably the first Friday night in a while that I haven't blown lots of flex points!!! |
